Vessel drawings 2010

I  think of vessels as containers for our innermost selves, they are metaphors for the human spirit.
In these works, the vessel forms  are made by embossing lines repeatedly on paper and gradually allowing them to curve at each end. I often represent the vessels as open at the top and base to suggest free movement of the spirit.
Their shapes and forms may also suggest parts of plants such as  pods, fruit and foliage.
