I think of vessels as containers for our
innermost selves, they are metaphors for the human spirit.
In these works, the
vessel forms are made by embossing lines
repeatedly on paper and gradually allowing them to curve at each end. I often represent
the vessels as open at the top and base to suggest free movement of the spirit.
Their shapes and
forms may also suggest parts of plants such as pods, fruit and foliage.
