Giving old paintings new life

Today after being inspired by an artist's work in Saatchi, I decided to paint over my old paintings to breathe new life in them. I painted a dark grey as a background or base colour. After a while, when one was still wet, I suddenly placed my finger on the edge and stamped. I quite liked the effect.

another batch of metallic paper wax paintings and my problem continues

the last photo shows how ordinary the works look when not reflected by light. My problem is how to present and display the works so that they are always at their best ie in the glare of the reflected light.

Metallic papers

Was quite struck by the dramatic effect of the reflected surface of work that had metallic base (gold or silver). But you can only see this at a certain angle.(photos below), which meant I was unable to take a proper photo with the camera directly above the image, because the camera blocked the light which meant no reflection on the artwork, which meant an ordinary image!

2015 first week of school...

Suddenly so short of time, so felt pleased that even 45 minutes (each time) of tinkering brought some relief to a tired mind and body.   A few favourites from 2 sessions..

Figurative works

Yesterday, was just casually going over old work when  this work struck me as quite good. Was surprised I hadn't noticed it before. Then, as if with 'new eyes', I quickly went over the rest and picked these as noteworthy and then arranged them as a composite.Am pleased with them.

Back at last! Making personalised business/name cards

It's been a long while since I 've been working on my blog. I'll try to do a better job!

Yesterday, the start of a 3 day long weekend, I had the idea to make my own business cards...

Too much trouble making the text labels...I'll get it printed at the shop and paste them on to the cards.
